As a developer of affordable housing, tembusu grand aims to bring quality homes within reach for the middle market segment. Located at the city fringe, this project is close to amenities, including the Farrer Park MRT station. Residents will be able to get to the city centre within 20 minutes via the train.

Its developer, CDL, has sold more than 8,000 units in the last two years. Tembusu Grand is expected to be another successful project for the company.

The site for the development is situated at Jalan Tembusu in District 15. The site, along with its neighbouring site of Piccadilly Galleria, will be developed into a mixed-use project with 640 homes and retail space. It is the first such project for Tembusu Partners, a new subsidiary of CDL. The new venture, headed by managing partner Chew Hua Seng, invests in early- and growth-stage companies in emerging Asia. Its backers include Singapore’s sovereign wealth fund and a number of family offices.

Designed by architect Moshe Safdie, the property is envisioned as a ‘living landscape’. Delicate threads of nature interweave with the architecture to form an organic living facade that brings the landscape closer to each home. The landscape also drapes over two sky decks for an even more intimate connection with nature. The thoughtfully designed water feature captures and retains rainwater, resulting in meandering streams that ebb and flow throughout the property.

In addition to the aforementioned features, Tembusu Grand has other unique characteristics that set it apart from other residential developments in the area. These include a large central courtyard with a lap pool, a sky deck and various thematic pavilions that offer a quiet sanctuary for its residents. There will also be an art gallery with thematic installations that reflect the cultural and natural heritage of the area.

The 62-storey tower will house 620 apartments, comprising 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 bedroom units. The apartments will be surrounded by lush greenery and have private gardens for all residents to enjoy. The design of the tower reflects the flora and fauna around it, with each floor containing different colours representing the plants in the vicinity.

As such, the tower looks like a giant tree growing out of the ground. It is a nod to the iconic Tembusu tree at the Singapore Botanic Gardens, which has been recognised as a national monument for its flora and fauna, as well as its cultural and historical significance. The Tembusu tree, which is said to be more than 150 years old, was prized for its durable wood that was once used to make chopping boards.

The EC is close to the Kranji Expressway (KJE), making it easy for residents to travel across Singapore and beyond. Moreover, the Boon Lay and Choa Chu Kang MRT stations are both nearby, offering residents convenient commute options. The upcoming Thomson-East Coast Line will further boost travel convenience to the area.
